Using the HeyAlly App

HeyAlly is a digital healthcare platform that provides access to a wide range of medical services. At Parkway MediCentre, we leverage on HeyAlly to offer secure, real-time video consultations with our paediatric specialists.

You can download the HeyAlly app from the App Store or Google Play to get started.

Once you've downloaded HeyAlly, follow these simple steps to register, add your child's profile, and book a teleconsultation with one of our paediatricians.

Parents or guardians may use the app to consult on behalf of their children. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the video consultation.

Teleconsultation is suitable for managing a range of non-urgent conditions, such as:

  • Common acute illnesses (e.g. cough, cold, runny nose, sore throat)
  • Fever lasting less than 5 days
  • Diarrhoea, constipation, or mild vomiting
  • Itchy or red eyes
  • Mild or gradual onset of rashes or skin irritation / itchiness
  • Mild allergic reactions without facial swelling
  • Other non-emergency concerns
  • Follow-up of stable chronic conditions (e.g. eczema, allergic rhinitis)

Our paediatricians will assess whether teleconsultation is appropriate based on your child's symptoms. In-person visits may be recommended for more complex cases or when a physical examination is needed.

Teleconsultation should not be used for emergencies or new, undiagnosed conditions that require an in-person evaluation.

Please visit the nearest Urgent Care Centre immediately if your child has symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain or constant pain
  • Severe or sudden-onset headache
  • Fits or seizures
  • Severe rashes all over the body
  • Mental health concerns
  • Difficulty passing urine
  • Persistent vomiting or severe abdominal pain
  • Fever ≥ 38°C in children under 5 years, especially if lasting more than 48 hours
  • Breathing difficulty or wheezing
  • Lethargy or poor feeding in infants
  • Recent head injury or trauma
  • Signs of dehydration (e.g. dry lips, sunken eyes)

Appointments & Consultations

Teleconsultations are available during Parkway MediCentre’s paediatric clinic hours. You can check available time slots in the HeyAlly app when booking.

Each session lasts around 10 minutes, which is typically sufficient for most paediatric concerns. Your child's doctor may recommend a follow-up if additional time or an in-person evaluation is required.

We aim to connect you with a doctor within 10 minutes of your teleconsultation request. However, this may vary depending on our specialists' availability and the number of patients in the online queue. To minimise wait times, we recommend booking an appointment in advance.

Yes, you may choose your preferred paediatrician or opt to consult the next available doctor. All three of our paediatricians — Dr Kao Pao-Tang, Dr Agnes Tay, and Dr Vella — are experienced specialists from the International Baby Child & Adolescent Clinic (IBCA Clinic).

Please ensure you are in a quiet, well-lit space with a stable internet connection. Before your appointment, complete the pre-consultation questionnaire in the app.

To help the doctor assess your child accurately, it’s helpful to have the following ready:

  • Your child's NRIC/passport and your own identification documents
  • Photos of any visible symptoms (e.g. rashes, areas of infection)
  • Recent medical records or lab test results, if available

The doctor will:

  • Verify your child's identity using the details provided during registration
  • Evaluate your child's symptoms and medical history
  • Provide a diagnosis and recommend a treatment plan
  • Issue prescriptions, eMCs, or referral letters if needed

If a physical consultation is required, the doctor will advise you accordingly.

No. For your privacy, all video or audio recordings of the session are strictly prohibited.

All teleconsultation records can be found in the HeyAlly app under: AllyTele > History.

Only if necessary. Our paediatricians will advise you if an in-person follow-up is required.

If you require medication, please let the doctor know during the teleconsultation. Requests to add medications after the session will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
