Paediatrician with an interest in: Ambulatory Paediatrics, Asthma, Allergies
Dr Agnes Tay is a senior paediatrician with the International Baby Child and Adolescent Clinic (IBCA Clinic) at Parkway MediCentre, Singapore.
She is accredited with the Specialist Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Health, Singapore, and is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Dr Tay completed her Master of Medicine in Paediatrics at the National University of Singapore before pursuing a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, where she focused on molecular genetics. After her return to Singapore, she joined the National University Hospital (NUH) as an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics.
Dr Tay pursued basic science research on signal transduction and then studied complex genetic diseases such as asthma and allergies.
In 2000, Dr Tay transitioned to private practice and later joined IBCA Clinic, drawn by the group’s collaborative spirit. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she volunteered with the Community Paediatricians’ COVID-19 team to support the Ministry of Health's Home Recovery Programme. Through telemedicine, she screened thousands of children with COVID-19 and provided crucial reassurance to parents and families in crisis.
For her contributions, Dr Tay was awarded the Public Service Medal and the COVID-19 Resilience Award in 2023.
Dr Tay seeks to provide personalised paediatric care based on evidence-based medicine. Outside of work, she is active in church and enjoys reading, writing, travelling, and practising Pilates.
